Frequently Asked Questions

We know starting counseling can come with a lot of questions. This page is here to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident as you take the next step.
1. How much does counseling cost?
Our price structure is listed under Costs & Payment Options.
You can choose a licensed clinician or associate based on your needs and preferences.
2. Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance, but we provide a Superbill so you can be reimbursed by your plan individually. We also accept FSA/HSA cards.
Using insurance requires us to diagnose you or your child with a clinical mental health diagnosis (that doesn’t go away) after just one session. This is the case even if someone is simply going through a difficult season. By staying private pay only, we avoid insurance restrictions and focus on providing care that’s personalized, flexible, and guided by your needs, not by a diagnosis or other terms dictated by an insurance company.
3. What payment methods are available?
We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards.
4. How quickly can I start?
We guarantee a response within 12 hours, and your first appointment will be scheduled within one week, including evenings and weekends. No waitlist ever.
5. What are your office hours?
Our counseling hours are:
- Monday–Friday: 8 AM–8 PM
- Friday evenings: until 5 PM
Saturday: 9 AM–4 PM
We offer both in-person and virtual sessions.
6. Can I do telehealth sessions?
Yes—We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to offer virtual sessions. You must be physically located within Texas during your session.
7. How long does counseling take?
Every client is unique. Some find 6 weeks helpful; others build with us over months. Progress depends on your commitment and consistency.
8. Is confidentiality guaranteed?
Yes. Your sessions are private except in legal or safety-mandated situations. For clients under 18, parents have access to records, but counselor-client trust and privacy are key.

9. What are my rights as a client?
You are entitled to respectful, safe, and private care. You have the right to access your records, ask questions, and decline participation at any time. For more information, take a look at the Health and Human Services Handbook.
10. What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement or to count toward your deductible. It includes key information about your counseling sessions, such as dates, services provided, and fees paid. Coverage varies, so be sure to check with your insurance plan for specific benefits. 11. Why does your office look like a house?
Our office was originally a house that has since been converted into professional office space. You may notice features such as a kitchen area or a shower in the bathroom, but the space is now fully dedicated to counseling and business use. We share the building with a design firm and local artists who showcase their work throughout the space, including our landlord who is one of the featured artists.
